La Rochelle

This place is just beautiful.  We arrived on Thursday afternoon (3rd).  The old city is well preserved and has a Mediterranean feel to it.  This photo is of the Gothic gateway to the old city

The entrance to the city Harbour was protected during times of war by suspending a massive chain between these two towers...

La Rochelle has the largest marina on the West coast of France (it's massive!)
