Rochefort (No, not Roquefort)

Yup, we were a little confused and kept thinking 'Roquefort Cheese'.........that one is on the Mediterranean side of France.  This one is a few miles South of La Rochelle.  It's not the most noteworthy place to visit but hey ho, it was on our route to Cognac.

It does have a 'Transporter Bridge' similar to the one in Newport in SouthWales!

And this building was once the longest building in Europe! used to manufacture 'cordage' for the French navy in Napoleonic times (rope to you and me)

The other side (foon version!)

The Aire that we stayed on was about 50 yards from the river, this was the view in the morning after we had finished our baguette and coffee (we were up very early)
