As we get closer to the Mediterranean the scenery is changing dramatically. The mountains are now Limestone and very rugged and at lower levels completely covered in forest or vineyards (!). It is reminiscent of a scene out of 'Gladiator' actually.
All the houses are tiled in terracotta and the colours of the buildings are various shades of sandy white. We pass through so many charming little villages full of dilapidated (rustic!) houses. This really does feel like another country.
I will see if we can take some photo's today.
For those that have spotted the local time of this post it is around 04:20 in the morning! I woke up over an hour ago and could not get back to sleep...... so after a cup of hot chocolate and a couple of crackers with strawberry jam (and posting these updates) I'll go back to bed now and try to get more sleep.
